The City of Park Rapids (population 3,976) is accepting applications for the position of City Administrator. Park Rapids is nestled within Minnesota’s pine forest region in the state’s Northwoods vacation land.  The position is appointed by the Mayor and a four-member City Council, and is responsible for supervision of 37 full and part time personnel, 26 paid on call volunteer fire department, and a total budget of $11.4 million. Qualified candidates preferably will possess experience in economic and community development, finance and budgeting, and a desire for community involvement and coalition building. It is preferred that Candidates for the City Administrator position have a combination of a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration, and two years of progressively responsible experience in a management position, preferably in the public sector. Annual salary range is $68,500 to $92,000 depending on qualifications, plus full-time city benefit package. City application, resume, and a letter of interest required.
